FRIENDS ONLY

Should have put up one of these a long time ago but it's better late than never.

This isn't a super secret journal but it's nice to know that I have some control on what people see. So, if you would like to friend me, feel free to leave me a note here and I'd be more than happy to welcome you :)

Please tell me I'm not the only one depressed that there is no Sherlock tonight.

I'm excited beyond reason that there will be more in the future (next year?) but that isn't now! I liked watching Sherlock and then True Blood back to back, made a very nice Sunday night. Oh well, guess I'll have to have True Blood make me happy all on it's own tonight. *dramatic sigh* :D

Darn LJ! For some insane reason it updated suddenly when I was only half done. Hmmm....

So excited for this, not even gonna lie. I'm very impressed with the teaser trailer and cannot wait until November. I'm surprised with all the spoilers within, guess they figured there is so much going on that a bit of a reveal wouldn't be too bad.

Something that came to light when I saw it was that I haven't been active in the fandom in forever. Besides that, I think it's high time for a reread of the series. The first five I've read far too much, six only twice and seventh only the one time.

Deathly Hallows was only read the first day or so it was out and very quickly so I don't remember all that much. I normally wouldn't say that as a complaint (all the death !Don't even want to admit how much I cried D:) but since Part I is out in November I do need to brush up a bit.

This is by far one of the most awesome things I have heard in a very long time. The Make-A-Wish foundation really went all out on this one, this kid no doubt had the time of his life.

Also, totally jealous. I wish I had a arch-nemesis :D

So I've finally decided that I need to get my butt in gear when it comes to thinning down the 'To Read' stack I have going. I'm not even kidding when I say it takes up most of my room.

And that's not counting what is still in storage.

So I've torn through the first three books of the Sookie Stackhouse series in the past three days. (Pretty awesome in my book since I haven't read that much in a long while.)

Not long ago I read the first two and part of the third so I knew I already liked 'em but it was nice to start over again. Sadly, my copies of the books are in storage so I borrowed my sister's copies. And of course she doesn't have the fourth book. Thank goodness for ebooks!

I really do like the series. And after talking to a coworker (who I convinced to read them) I have a better perspective on the novels. The first time I read the first few books I loved Bill but hated Eric. Now it's the other way around oddly. Which is the opposite for the tv series, I cannot stand Eric. Ok, to be honest I like him but I don't like the way he treats Sookie and gets between her and Bill. (Hey, I'm a romantic at heart.)

Speaking of the show...I hope to catch up this summer. I hate that I've missed so many episodes and pushed the show to the side. I still have trouble with the sheer amount of stupid in the show, I love the characters and the plot but the amount of bad decisions (I'm looking at you Jason) frustrates me to no end.

I also finished the new Pride and Prejudice and Zombies novel, Dawn of the Dreadfuls, this weekend. Pretty good, not as good as the first PPZ novel, but for a prequel it was decent. I feel like such a bad person for enjoying these novels since they are taking Austen and making it twisted and weird as hell, but I honestly love all the zombies and violence. :D

So that's four books within a week. I feel very good about that, almost back to my normal reading habits. Here's hoping I can keep it up! (Not thinking of finals, not thinking of finals...)

I've got a bit of free time so here's a book meme I snagged from hold_onhope

Bold the ones you've read COMPLETELY, italicize the ones you've read part of, and no cheating. Watching the movie or the cartoon doesn't count. Abridged versions don't count either. BTW, according to the BBC if you've read 7 of these, you are above the average.

Guess I've read more than I'd originally thought!Collapse )

Just woke up to the Supernatural marathon on TNT and the episode is "Tall Tales". I've always loved this episode, the folklorist in me adores all the classic urban legends. Now that we know all about the 'Trickster' and his past, makes me truly appreciate an all-powerful individual who uses the hokiest urban legends to get back at people.

Wish I had a gif of the boys fighting over the money clip. Need to be better prepared!

Nothing makes the first day of classes more fun then a huge storm and a 8+ hour day at work!

In all honesty it wasn't that bad. The storm was nasty but I hear it is expected to be even more so tomorrow. (50+ mph gusts of wind and over two inches of rain! D:) Work was long but we were ready and there have been worst first days in the past.

I'm happy to be home and more than ready for bed. I've got one of my tv classes to watch but I'm not touching it tonight since it's a little after nine and I'm passing out.

To all you California people, hang in there! Same to anyone else having not-so-nice weather, I love winter and all but being soaked all day is no fun.

I have a feeling ya'll are going to hear this from me loads of times over the next few months, but I am so tired of moving D:

We made a lot of progress this week and the family plans to take tomorrow off since it's the last day of Spring Break and school is back in session on Monday. I'm sad that the week went by so quickly, but on the other hand having things back to the normal schedule will be nice.

Season three of Robin Hood started today (in the UK at least) and I have no idea if I'm going to watch it. I am still angry about the ending of season two so with that in mind I have no desire to continue to watch the show, but I might as well give the new episode a chance. The show has always been fantastic in my opinion but I have doubts if they will be able to come back from what they have done.

I hope everyone is enjoying similar weather like we've been having here in Northern California. It's been in the high seventy/low eighty range for the past few days and it's beautiful. I adore the Spring and I can't wait to put away all my jackets and sweaters :D
